This 9-week course will be perfect for participants an introduction to or re-entry into drawing and painting. Participants will experiment with a variety of materials such as pencils, charcoal, pastels, pen, ink and paint. Using the wide variety of source material available, including the park, walled garden, the house and sculptures, participants will be inspired to create works of art they can be proud of.

Schedule (This schedule is subject to alterations depending on the needs of the group and weather conditions):

Week 1: Introductions, line & tone drawing with pencil
Week 2: Perspective (ellipses) and tonal drawing
Week 3: Colour with pastels
Week 4: Colour with watercolours
Week 5: Perspective and landscapes
Week 6 & 7: Self-portraits; introduction and then continuation/completion
Week 8: Still life in pastels
Week 9: Pen and ink

Learning outcomes: Observational drawing skills, colour-mixing with a limited palette, but a variety of materials, gain confidence in own abilities with exercises they can continue with and build on.

Your Tutor:
Sheena studied Fine Art Drawing & Painting at Glasgow School of Art, graduating with her BA (Hons) in 1997. She works as a professional artist from her studio at Trongate 103 and has exhibited her work in the UK, Europe and New York.
