Preparatory Works

Callum Rice, Ruth Kirby and Edwin Pickstone

01 May – 02 July 2019

Preparatory Works: The Failing Light but Polmadie Shines has been programmed in the Café gallery to coincide with Callum Rice’s solo exhibition of the same name currently on display in the Studio Pavilion gallery at House for an Art Lover. The exhibition presents a number of additional photographs and prints produced by Rice during the development of the project providing an opportunity to expand upon the work displayed in the Studio Pavilion.

In this exhibition Rice places his work alongside a selection by Ruth Kirby and Edwin Pickstone, artists with whom Rice collaborated when developing his letterpress prints. Kirby and Pickstone work in the Caseroom at The Glasgow School of Art where, as the Typography Technicians they care for the school’s collection of original letterpress printing equipment, collaborating with artists and designers on a wide range of projects focused on print and letterpress technology.

Callum Rice: The Failing Light but Polmadie Shines runs until 23 June 2019
Gallery Open Tues – Sunday 11am – 4pm
